Lee and Carolyn, Tim and Chrissie welcome you to ‘Fawcett Farmstay’, located in Alexandra, Victoria.
We have been at the Farm since June 2017, when we purchased it from Tom and Margaret Fisher. The Fishers developed the cottages and gardens over twenty five years, into a charming rural Edwardian setting for that getaway holiday. We plan to maintain the atmosphere which Tom and Margaret have created.
The twelve acre property is set in the lovely rolling hills of the Goulburn River Valley of Victoria. We are just three kilometres from the town of Alexandra where you can shop at the Supermarket ( 8 am till 8 pm ), buy takeaway food, or eat out at one of the hotels or coffee shops. The local Information Centre is very helpful with advice about attractions and events in the area.
We have three cottages available for guests. The cottages are fully self contained and well separated, each enclosed so it has a private garden area which will keep your canine companions safe.
Your pets are welcome here but must be under their owners’ supervision at all times. Each cottage has a complete kitchen including a rice cooker and electric frying pan. We do not cater meals. All bedding and towels are supplied. The cottages each have a Coonara heater so you can enjoy a cosy fire on winter evenings. There is also reverse cycle air-conditioning, television and DVD player, and electric BBQ supplied at each cottage.
Each afternoon we have a time to feed the farm animals, varying according to time of year and the weather, and also taking into consideration the needs of guests. Please feel free to discuss the planned feeding time with us when you arrive.
You and your children can enjoy feeding and patting the sheep, the goats, and Cleo the cow. . You will also meet the turkey, the geese and a variety of hens and ducks. During the school holidays we usually have little chicks and ducklings for the children to see and perhaps hold. Farmer Tim is happy to show you the lizards and turtles if the weather is warm, and also the friendly ferrets.
Our dogs Moppy, Obi and Bella, and the cats – Annie, Hope, Bob, Honey and Ben – will also make you welcome.
When Tim is available he will bring out the blue tongued lizards for you to pat, as well. At times we have young lambs. For up to the minute information on which animals are at the Farm you may like to check out our Facebook page or text Carolyn.
There is a large children’s playground on the property, which is shared between the three cottages. We have a big trampoline, climbing frame, swings and ride-on toys under the shade of the oak and Gum trees.
An outdoor BBQ area with fire pit is available on the lawn subject to seasonal fire restrictions.
We care for the environment and only natural fertilizers are used on this farm. Our cleaning products are certified through Environment Choice Australia or produced by Nature’s Organics.
